Pronunciation
Two very good pronunciation resources are: Clear Pronunciation 1 (Sounds) - Learners find it extremely useful to practise pronunciation independently. This program will help them recognise and pronounce 43 English phonemes through activities, audio and video. Clear Pronunciation 2 (Speech) - Learners focus on recognising and producing the features of natural, native-speaker speech: consonant clusters, word and sentence stress, connected speech and intonation. With video and audio input. Connected
Speech - This CD-Rom helps with aspects of pronunciation
in, as the title suggests, connected speech. It looks
at pause groups, pitch change, sentence stress, linking,
syllable and word stress and the international phonetic
alphabet.
Just
a Minute - This is a BBC comedy program where contestants
have to speak for a minute on a given topic without
hesitation, repetition or deviation from the topic.
Don't worry: you won't have to perform like this in
most exams! www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/comedy...
Agenda
- To listen to people giving opinions on controversial
subjects, listen to the BBC's Agenda. www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice
